The Loss of an Artistic Legend: Johnnie Fields 1927-2020
It is with great sadness and condolences to report that the original “Lakeway Painter”, Johnnie Fields passed away on June 7, 2020. Mr Fields was known throughout the community as a notable architect and one of the most talented watercolor artists in Texas as well as the founder of the Lakeway Painters group. His career path melded his love of architecture with his passion for watercolor. Johnnie often told his watercolor students to “be loose and unafraid” while painting. Chalk Your Walk
Time to show off all the amazing and creative talent here in Lakeway! The City of Lakeway Parks and Recreation Department’s ‘Chalk Your Walk‘ event is happening this week and through the weekend. You can pick up some multi-colored chalk and a goodie bag for FREE at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek) through 5 p.m. on Friday April 17th. The goodie bag will be delivered by way of a special drive-through service, so be sure to stay in your car and someone will come out to deliver your bag and chalk (limit 1 per child).
