Lakeway’s Halloween Drive Thru Boo!
The City of Lakeway’s Parks & Recreation Department has a special treat planned for little goblins just in time for Halloween – a socially distanced and family friendly event will help lift your Halloween spirits! On October 30 (Halloween Eve) starting at 7 p.m., a special Drive Thru Boo! event will allow you and your family to drive the Boo Trail to three city locations to trick-or-treat through a special spooky drive-thru service. Candy and goodies will be safely delivered to your vehicles starting at the Lakeway Police Department. Lakeway Arts District is proud to announce a new initiative to compile the first comprehensive Artist Directory for the greater Lakeway, TX area. Until now, there has not been a free and publicly available Artist Directory for our diverse Lakeway area complete with artists from visual, performing, applied, digital, and literary arts. The Loss of an Artistic Legend: Johnnie Fields 1927-2020
It is with great sadness and condolences to report that the original “Lakeway Painter”, Johnnie Fields passed away on June 7, 2020. Mr Fields was known throughout the community as a notable architect and one of the most talented watercolor artists in Texas as well as the founder of the Lakeway Painters group. His career path melded his love of architecture with his passion for watercolor. Johnnie often told his watercolor students to “be loose and unafraid” while painting.
