Musicians Honor a Local Jazz Legend
Enjoy an evening presented by Spicewood Arts with two of Jazz music’s finest artists at a performance held each year in honor of Tony Campise, one of Austin’s great jazz musicians. This year at 7pm on May 5th at Spicewood Vineyards, the Austin-born Carmen Bradford (2022 Grammy nominee and recipient of the Los Angeles Jazz Society’s Jazz Vocalist Award) and John Mills (composer/arranger and recording saxophonist across a wide spectrum of jazz and other musical genres) will entertain everyone with their classic jazz tribute to Tony. Get Inspired at the Lakeway Garden Club Open House
Ready to turn your artistic talents into a vibrant and colorful garden? Stop by on Saturday and get inspired with the Lakeway Garden Club at their Open House at the Lake Travis Community Library on April 22nd from 12-2pm. The Lakeway Garden Club will offer an overview of the club, its upcoming projects and how to become a member for free. Call for Artwork at Austin Pets Alive!
Life Scout Tyce Bogdon from Boy Scout Troop 52 is working on a project benefiting Austin Pets Alive, a local non-profit organization that provides care to dogs and cats who are looking for a home. He is creating a new outdoor space that is in a high-traffic area of their Town Lake headquarters. The hope is that this new space will inspire and encourage more donations and pet adoptions. Because art is an important part of his life, Tyce would like to have a piece of artwork donated as a gift to Austin Pets Alive. Enter the 2023 Lakeway Photo Festival
Celebrating its 21st year, the Lakeway Photo Festival showcases both the unique beauty of our area and the amazing talents of our local photographers. This year the photo categories include Artistic, Community, Nature (Sky, Water and Greenery), Pets and Wildlife (Deer, Birds and Critters) plus a brand new category celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Lakeway called Heritage. Amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to enter. All photos must be taken in the City of Lakeway and by residents within the Lake Travis ISD area.
