Celebrate Women’s History with Citizens at Last: Texas Women Fight for the Vote
Did you know that Texas was the first southern state to ratify the 19th amendment? Credit is due to the tireless Texas suffragists like Minnie Fisher Cunningham (pictured) who never gave up the fight for women’s right to vote. Learn about Chinese Brush Painting
We invite you to join Lakeway resident Gail Threinen, as part of the “Women In Art” exhibit, as she demonstrates Chinese Brush Painting of the peony, the favorite flower of the only woman Empress of China, Wu Zetian (624-705) of the Tang Dynasty. Gail’s demonstration will take place on Saturday March 11th at 1:30pm at the Lake Travis Community Library (1938 Lohmans Crossing, Lakeway, TX). Historical Lakeway Highlighted on Heritage Tour
Join the City of Lakeway Heritage Committee for one of these three popular historic bus tours. The tours take you to several historical landmarks throughout Lakeway. The free bus tours are scheduled to leave Lakeway City Hall at 9:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. with committee members and volunteers guiding each tour, which lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes. If you’re interested in joining us on one of these free tours, please register to attend.
