Cool Arts Show and Studio Tour features Local Artists
Don’t miss the 2023 Cool Arts Show and Studio Tour to enjoy the best local art in Lakeway! The Lakeway Arts Committee will hold the annual Cool Arts Show and Studio Tour on Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27. Over twenty artists will exhibit and sell their work at the Lakeway Activity Center from 1-5PM on Saturday, August 26th. Attendees will find paintings, watercolors, pottery, garden art and more from many talented local artists. Artist studio tours will be held around Lakeway on August 26 and 27 from 12-5pm. Enjoy an Artistic Escape to the Florida Gulf Coast
Local artist Larry Bishop will display his paintings at the Lake Travis Community Library beginning on Monday, July 10th. Bishop grew up spending his summers on Florida’s Gulf Coast and fell in love with its communities, marine life, and fishing. His artwork seeks to capture the natural beauty of the Texas, Mississippi, and Florida coastlines. All are invited to his reception on Saturday, July 15th from 2pm to 3:30pm. Much of his current work is inspired by the coastal settings he frequents: the Gulf Coast of Texas Mississippi and Florida. Most recently, he keeps his boat in Rockport, Texas. Austin Brassworks Ready to Shine in Lakeway
Join us as the City of Lakeway’s Arts in the Afternoon program showcases the Austin Brassworks performing “Showstoppers” on Sunday Aug 6th at 4pm at the Lakeway Activity Center. This free and family friendly concert is for all brass band lovers! The Austin Brassworks formed in 2018 to explore original works for brass quintet, including those by the Nineteenth Century composer, Victor Ewald, and more contemporary composers of quintet literature, such as John Cheetham and Michael. Over time, the group’s repertoire has broadened to include high-quality transcriptions of music in a wide range of styles that were originally voiced for other instruments.
