Learn How to Cook the Modern Pioneer Way
Join us at the Lake Travis Community Library as local cookbook author and library patron Mary Bryant Shrader discusses her debut The Modern Pioneer Cookbook, which features traditional “pioneer” cooking techniques such as making bone broth, sourdough bread, and cultured dairy. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. Lake Travis Reads is a One Book, One Community program whose goal is to bring the Lake Travis communities together through the shared reading and discussion of the works of our favorite authors. Lake Travis Reads is co-sponsored by Bee Cave Public Library, Lake Travis Community Library, and Spicewood Community Library.

Enjoy the Magic of Classical Music with the Balcones Orchestra
Join us on Sunday, September 24th at 4pm as the Balcones Community Orchestra performs a selection of classic orchestra favorites at the Lakeway Activity Center as a part of the popular Arts in the Afternoon series. The Balcones Orchestra is a symphony of 36 musicians and is directed by Dr. Robert Alan Radmer. The all-volunteer group draws its repertoire from the masterworks for small orchestras. Dr. Radmer is the founder and Music Director of the Balcones Community Orchestra, now in its 23rd season. He has worked with youth orchestras and adult ensembles in six states, and for ten years was on the faculty of St. Edward’s University conducting the orchestra and…

Grand Opening of the Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden
Join us for fun grand opening festivities for the newest park in Lakeway! The Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden (104 Cross Creek, Lakeway, TX 78734) is a beautiful new park located in Lakeway, Texas. It is home to a collection of bronze sculptures by local artists. On Sunday October 15th at 4pm, there will be an official ribbon cutting ceremony with the mayor to celebrate the opening of the new sculpture garden and the start of a new era for the arts in Lakeway. Following the ceremony, there will be another signature Arts in the Afternoon concert featuring the Band of the Hills playing outdoors in this beautiful, shady park. The…
