Be a Part of Women in Art
Calling all Women Artists in the Lake Travis area! International Women’s Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8th to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. Recently the entire month of March has been designated Women’s History Month as a national celebration. To honor “Women in Art” next March, the Lakeway Arts District will be showcasing many talented female artists in our area at a special month-long exhibit at the Lake Travis Community Library. This group show of paintings, drawings, sculpture, digital art, fiber arts and photographs by women artists can include any subject matter, abstract or realistic, so get ready to share your artistic vision! Enchanting Animals at Lake Travis Library
During the month of October, local artist Georgia Hagan’s realistic animal portraits are on display at the Lake Travis Community Library (LTCL). Georgia’s love of art blossomed while taking lessons at a local Tulsa art museum in her teens. She attended the University of Tulsa, where she met her husband, Marvin. After many years, they moved to Lakeway together and that’s when she began to paint in earnest again. Georgia became a part of the Lakeway Painters in 2015 and quickly discovered that she enjoys creating animal portraits and looking for ways to make her paintings more lifelike. 2022 Cool Arts Show puts Lakeway Artists in the Spotlight

Chill out this Summer at the Cool Arts Show and Studio Tour
The Lakeway Arts Committee is hosting its annual Cool Arts Show and Studio Tour. The event features live music by Christian Wiggs Trio (1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.) in the Lakeway Activity Center courtyard, and fine visual arts created by around 20 Lakeway-area artists. Art available includes paintings, jewelry and pottery. There will also be a variety of children’s activities for kiddos to check out, including face painting and arts projects. Three food trucks will also be outside the show on Saturday, including Evil Wiener, Craig O’s, and Kona Ice. The home art studio tour locations will be released within the week of the event.
