Calling all Women Artists in the Lake Travis area! International Women’s Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8th to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. Recently the entire month of March has been designated Women’s History Month as a national celebration. To honor “Women in Art” next March, the Lakeway Arts District will be showcasing many talented female artists in our area at a special month-long exhibit at the Lake Travis Community Library. Enchanting Animals at Lake Travis Library
During the month of October, local artist Georgia Hagan’s realistic animal portraits are on display at the Lake Travis Community Library (LTCL). Georgia’s love of art blossomed while taking lessons at a local Tulsa art museum in her teens. She attended the University of Tulsa, where she met her husband, Marvin. After many years, they moved to Lakeway together and that’s when she began to paint in earnest again. Georgia became a part of the Lakeway Painters in 2015 and quickly discovered that she enjoys creating animal portraits and looking for ways to make her paintings more lifelike. Meet the Silly Sisters of Nunsense
Don’t miss Nunsense: A Musical Comedy by Dan Goggin from November 3-5 at 7:30 pm at the Lakeway Activity Center and presented by the Lakeway Players. Nunsense begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. Break out your Broom for the Witches Ride, Roll and Stroll
Join another fun and spooky Witches Ride, Roll and Stroll on Saturday October 22, 2022 from 6 PM to 9 PM. Bring your bicycles, tricycles, unicycles, skates, scooters, wheelchairs, golf carts, wagons, and plain ol’ walking feet to the Live Oak golf course driving range to participate in the parade. Parks & Recreation will provide streamers, glow sticks, and tape to decorate your wheels for the “flight” down Lakeway Drive!
